We are dedicated to providing a warm, compassionate service to all our users to help understand the current issues you may be experiencing. Both individuals and couples are welcome to explore their current life difficulties to help manaage stress, anxiety and depression . Burn out, self harm, OCD or behavioural issues such as over eating or overspending can be a symptom of stress and anxiety and can lead to relationship difficulties or other mental health issues . Our goal is to empower clients through counselling and psychotherapy to find purpose and balance in their lives, and to improve their wellbeing and overall quality of life.

As an experienced counsellor I use a variety of evidence-based techniques to provide personalized care to each of our clients. Over the 24 years that Lizzy has worked as a therapist she has continued to train to support clients with the problems they bring to therapy. The approach Lizzy has adopted is based in client centered therapy, emotional focussed therapy (EFT), as well as known psychology practices. Over the years it has become evident that many clients benefit from learning about their condition which helps them to identify their triggers. Adopting healthy coping mechanisms can help clients to start to manage their condition and introducing practices such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques helps clients to overcome negative thought patterns and behaviours. I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, addressing both the mind and body.

Counselling for individuals who strugggle with eating behaviours that become obsessive and start to take over your life. Nutrition is important but many people prioritise slimness or being the thinnest leading to depression, mental health issues and ill health.
Others may struggle with over eating and there is often an underlying cause as well as the habitual reaching for food for comfort.
Recently the newer phenomenon of injecting GLP-1 such as Wegovy and Ozempic do help individuals lose weight rapidly. However the issues which may have led to over eating or comfort eating may still cause distress and emotional pain. Therapy can help to address these problems .
Relationships are an important part of our lives, but they can also be challenging. I endeavour to help you and your partner improve communication, build intimacy and strengthen your relationship and understand the cycles that lead to arguments, upset and anger. Emotionally Focussed Therapy is used to help couples understand and reframe their relationship leading to develop a more harmonious relationship.
Adoption therapy can help to understand the experience some adoptees undergo as adults. At times adoptees growing up may have demonstarted behavioural and emotional problems . At times the cause of the behaviour is not recognised and percieved as bad behaviour. The individual may not themselves recognise the trauma they experience at birth. This is known as a preverbal trauma.. Babies and older children who are separated from their birth mother can experience attachment issues. The separation from the birth mother can cause individuals to experience loss, grief, lack of trust, an inability to develop intimate relationships and they may experience feelings of guilt, shame and rejection.. They often experience rejection and loss profoundly painful and feel severe abandonment. Attachment therapy can help you to grieve your past and understand your story which leads to forming more solid loving relationships in the future.
Individual counselling is designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. Hope Therapy provides a confidential, discrete, supportive in a non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behavior, and develop strategies for positive change.
Couples counseling can help you and your partner or family member improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger relationship. Whether you are facing challenges related to intimacy, trust, differences of opinion and the many other issues that arise when living with another person. A relationship therapist can help you work through the triggers that lead to the arguments and stand-offs that recur within a relationsip. Understanding each other as well as the nature of your relationship can pave the way to a more harmonious connection and achieve greater satisfaction in your relationship.
